Senate Forms Committee to Address Tax Reform Bills Concerns

By Our Correspondent

The Senate has formed a special committee to engage with the executive on resolving issues surrounding the tax reform bills.

The committee, set up during a plenary session presided over by Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, aims to discuss and resolve areas of disagreement.

A meeting is scheduled for Thursday at the National Assembly to address these concerns.

The committee includes Senate leadership and key members such as Tahir Mongunu, Adamu Aliero, Seriake Dickson, and others.

This decision follows recent remarks by Senator Shehu Buba, who revealed that Northern senators had called for a reconsideration of the tax reform bills.

President Bola Tinubu has also directed the Ministry of Justice to meet with lawmakers to address the ongoing protests.
