Sanwo-Olu Announces Appointment of Media Aide

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended a vote of confidence in Gboyega Akosile by reappointing him as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

 

The news of this appointment was made public through a statement released on Monday,  by the Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

 

According to the statement, the reappointment of Gboyega Akosile as Chief Press Secretary took effect immediately. This decision highlights the trust and commendation Governor Sanwo-Olu has in Akosile’s ability to effectively communicate the government’s policies, initiatives, and achievements to the public.

Gboyega Akosile previously served as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sanwo-Olu during his first term. He played a crucial role in the governor’s media team and contributed significantly to the successful communication of the government’s activities. Additionally, Akosile had also been serving as the Media Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu since the beginning of his second term in office, which started on May 29, 2023.

The reappointment of Gboyega Akosile is seen as a testament to his outstanding performance and dedication in effectively managing media affairs for the Lagos State government. His expertise in public relations and strategic communication has undoubtedly been valued by the governor and his administration.

As Chief Press Secretary, Akosile will continue to be responsible for coordinating and managing media relations on behalf of Governor Sanwo-Olu.

 

He will work closely with journalists, reporters, and media organizations to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information regarding the government’s policies, programs, and projects.
