RUGIPO Fire Incident: No casualty recorded – Management

The management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has reacted to the recent fire incident that occurred at one of its student hostels on Saturday, assuring that no casualties were recorded and that the safety of students remains its top priority.

In a statement, the institution expressed relief that the fire was swiftly extinguished and the situation brought under control without any loss of life. The management extended appreciation to the Ondo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for the concern and prompt intervention during the unfortunate incident.

It also commended the Student Union Government and the Ondo State Fire Service for their quick response, which played a crucial role in containing the fire. The school disclosed that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident and pledged to implement necessary measures to forestall a recurrence.

While reaffirming its commitment to the safety and well-being of students, the management noted that support is being provided to those affected. It also appealed for the continued understanding and cooperation of students, staff, and the wider community.
