The National Executive Council of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Alumni Association has commended the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving the long-awaited 12th to 23rd Combined Convocation Ceremonies of the institution.

In a statement signed by its National President, Engr. Chief Adesina Adeola, the Association described the governor’s approval as a “landmark decision” that restored pride to thousands of graduates across the world and renewed confidence in the institution’s legacy.

The group said the move reflected Aiyedatiwa’s firm commitment to education, youth empowerment, and institutional development in Ondo State.

“This singular act is a testament to the administration’s dedication to advancing the cause of education and empowering young people for future leadership,” the statement read in part.

As part of activities marking the convocation, the Alumni body announced plans to commission its National Secretariat, perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Alumni Lock-Up Shops, and ratify its constitution.

It also appreciated the Governing Council of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic for its steadfast commitment to institutional progress and for sustaining the school’s vision over the years.

The National PRO of the Association, Engr. Asulewon Samuel, urged all graduates to participate fully in the event, describing it as “not just a convocation — it is a reunion of legacy bearers.”
