Provide Evidence: Betty Akeredolu Kills Her Husband—Civil Society Tells Ondo Commissioner

Group threatens public protests against Finance Commissioner

A group of civil activists from the Organisation of Justice for Equity Sustenance has demanded that Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, the Commissioner for Finance in Ondo State, provide proof of her claim that Betty Akeredolu was responsible for the death of her late husband, former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The activists said they have received a WhatsApp conversation where Mrs. Isaac alleged that the former governor did not die from cancer but was killed by his wife.

According to the group, Mrs. Isaac claims to have evidence showing that the late governor was pushed by Betty Akeredolu, leading to a fatal rush of blood to his brain.

The civil rights group has warned Mrs. Isaac to present solid evidence to support her allegations within seven days or face legal action and public protests.

They also called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate the matter.

During a press conference in Abuja, the activists made it clear that such a serious claim should not be taken lightly, especially considering the significance of the former governor’s death.

They stated that if Mrs. Isaac fails to provide the evidence, they will take further action, including mobilizing civil society organizations across Ondo State and beyond.

The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria has also confirmed receiving a petition about the allegations.

The council’s leadership is reviewing the situation and plans to take appropriate steps soon.
