Nigerian artiste Portable, known for his controversial nature, voiced his frustration after being overlooked at the 2025 Headies Awards.
In a video that quickly spread online, Portable accused his peers of purchasing awards rather than earning them.
He questioned the legitimacy of the Headies, claiming that recognition is bought with money and not based on merit.
Portable, who recently collaborated with UK rapper Skepta, expressed that genuine success comes from global recognition, not local awards.
He argued that despite their collaboration, he and Skepta deserved the award, but the organizers chose not to give it to them.
Rather than chasing awards, Portable said he prefers to invest in tangible assets like land and property, rejecting the idea of buying a false image.
He proudly stated that while others may mock him for not winning, he has achieved success through his own hard work, mentioning his album release and new cars as proof.
For him, true success is measured by real accomplishments, not awards.
