The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a young woman identified as Goodness Israel, whose body was found abandoned in a gutter along Udok Street, off Barracks Road in Uyo.
Residents of the area discovered the lifeless body in the early hours of Wednesday. There were no visible signs of gunshot or machete wounds, though foam was reportedly seen coming from her nose.
Police spokesperson DSP Timfon John confirmed the victim’s identity, stating it was obtained through her National Identification Number found on her. She added that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death and bring those responsible, if any, to justice.
