The Ebonyi State Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of the lifeless bodies of a man and his son at Ebebe Junction in Abakaliki.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the recovery of the corpses on Friday and noted that the cause of death has yet to be established.
“Upon receiving the report, I immediately alerted the Divisional Police Officer responsible for the area. Officers promptly responded and evacuated the bodies from the scene,” Ukandu said.
He added that the command had commenced investigations and promised that findings would be shared with the public once concluded.
At this stage, he stated, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
There are, however, unverified claims suggesting that the deceased may have consumed a meal allegedly prepared by a woman who has since gone into hiding.
