Police Order Senator Natasha To Halt Homecoming Rally in Kogi

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, has instructed Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended Senator from the Central Senatorial District, to cancel her planned Sallah rally.

This decision follows the state’s recent ban on political gatherings.

The ban was issued by the state government on Monday, but Akpoti-Uduaghan had insisted that her visit was solely to celebrate Eid Fitr with her constituents, not for any political activities.

Despite this, Dantawaye argued that the rally would violate the ban on political events.

The police received intelligence indicating that some individuals might attempt to disrupt the rally, which could lead to unrest in the state.

The statement further warned that the police would take strict action against anyone causing disturbances.
