Police Detain 1,200 Protesters In Brazilian Riots

 

At least 1,200 protesters were detained by police on Monday following the invasion of the Brazil’s capital buildings on Sunday.

According to reports, the authorities have also started dismantling the tent city where supporters of the former president, Jair Bolsonaro, had been camping out since he lost October’s election.

Thousands of Bolsonaro supporters broke into government buildings in the capital, Brasília, on Sunday to protest what they claimed was a stolen election.
