Police Condemn Officers Taking Cash from Chinese National in Viral Video

The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the actions of some officers caught on video receiving money from a Chinese national, describing the behavior as unprofessional and unacceptable.

This was made known in a statement released on Thursday, April 17, 2025, by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

Adejobi emphasized that the conduct displayed in the footage goes against the ethics and values expected of members of the Force and undermines public trust.

He noted that the officers involved have been identified and are currently facing disciplinary measures.

“The Nigeria Police Force is aware of a circulating video showing its personnel collecting money from a Chinese citizen. The act has been condemned in strong terms and is a violation of our professional standards,” the statement said.

The police also issued a warning to individuals and organizations that hire police officers for escort or security services, urging them to avoid actions that could damage the Force’s reputation.
