Police arrest five over attack on Vice Principal in Akure

The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended five suspects, including a woman identified as Mrs. Dorcas Asije, in connection with an alleged attack on the Vice Principal of Complete Child Development Centre in Akure.

Police spokesperson DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, who confirmed the incident, said the arrests followed the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi.

A special tactical unit, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), carried out the operation leading to the arrest.

All suspects are currently being held in police custody, and the matter has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for detailed investigation.

Authorities noted that the suspects would face prosecution once the investigation is finalized.

The Police Command also called on the public to continue obeying the law and to report any unusual or suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
