The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its commitment to comply with the Court of Appeal’s judgment, which declared Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the party’s national secretary.
According to NAN, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s national publicity secretary, made this known during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
“We acknowledge the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which upheld Udeh-Okoye as the PDP’s national secretary. As a party, we are duty-bound to respect and implement this ruling,” Ologunagba said.
The judgment confirmed a previous High Court decision that removed Samuel Anyanwu from the position of national secretary.
Ologunagba reiterated the PDP’s adherence to the rule of law, emphasizing that the party remains steadfast in complying with judicial pronouncements.
“Following two court orders, and after consultations with the PDP national legal adviser on December 24, 2023, we officially recognized the appeal court’s judgment affirming Udeh-Okoye as our national secretary.
“As a party committed to the rule of law, we honor the finality of court decisions. Our consistent respect for judicial processes underscores our position,” he said.
The PDP assured that it will ensure full implementation of the Court of Appeal’s decision and continue to uphold its reputation as a law-abiding political organization.
