Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has dismissed as false and baseless reports alleging that he is set to marry the former First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari.
Pantami described the claim as completely impossible, stressing that the late President Muhammadu Buhari was a father figure to him and that his wife is regarded as a mother.
The rumour had gained traction following the circulation of a purported wedding invitation card on social media, suggesting that the former minister and the widow of the ex-President were planning to wed. However, the invitation card contained no wedding date or any verifiable details.
Speaking in an interview with PRNigeria, Pantami said he was taken aback by the rumour, describing it as disturbing and unfounded.
“Aisha Buhari is a mother to us. It is disturbing that such a story could be fabricated,” he said.
“President Buhari was like a father to us, and his wife is regarded as a mother. Such a claim is not only false but impossible,” Pantami added.
He urged members of the public to disregard the report and cautioned against the spread of misinformation on social media platforms.
