Palliatives: FG urged to involve community leaders

The federal government has been urged to liaise with local community leaders in selecting beneficiaries of palliatives.

The Overseer of Lafia East in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Shuaibu Dahiru Zanwa, made the appeal in Lafia. “Traditional, religious, political, youth and women groups are sidelined in selecting beneficiaries of the federal government’s palliative through the Conditional Cash Transfer programme in Nasarawa State,” he said.

Alhaji Shuaibu urged the federal government and officials of the programme to liaise with the benefitting communities before they embarked on any expansion of the exercise. He said they found it difficult to explain to those who have not been benefiting from the process.
