Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been left out of Galatasaray’s squad for their 2025/2026 Turkish Super Lig season opener against Gaziantep on Friday.
Osimhen, who recently completed a permanent move to the Turkish champions after a successful loan spell, did not make the trip with the team to Gaziantep on Thursday.
Club sources revealed that the 26-year-old forward was omitted from the matchday squad due to fitness concerns, as he resumed pre-season training later than expected and is yet to hit full match sharpness.
The Super Eagles star enjoyed a prolific campaign during his loan stint with Galatasaray last season, netting an impressive 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. His tally made him the highest-scoring foreign player in a single Turkish Super Lig season.
Osimhen is expected to return to action once he attains full fitness, with Galatasaray fans eagerly awaiting his competitive debut as a permanent member of the squad.
