Osimhen Nets Hat-trick To Set Record in Win Against Sao Tome

Napoli football club of Italy striker Victor Osimhen was in an astonishing form for the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday evening, as he scored a hat-trick in their remarkable 6-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe national team in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier to become Nigeria’s fourth highest scorer with 20 goals.

 

The former LOSC Lille football club star was given a starting role by coach Jose Peseiro, following his outstanding performance for his club in their previous matches, and he was able to perform excellently again on Sunday evening.

Victor Osimhen led Super Eagles of Nigeria’s attack alongside Leicester City football club star Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman, and they were fantastic in the game.

 

Victor Osimhen broke the deadlock for Super Eagles in the 13th minute, and Ademola Lookman doubled the lead in the 27th minute after receiving an assist from Wilfred Ndidi to end the first half 2-0.

Taiwo Awoniyi made it 3-0 in the 51st minute and Victor Osimhen scored his second goal of the game in the 70th minute, before he completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute. Substitute Samuel Chukwueze scored the last goal of the game in the 86th minute to end the match 6-0.

 

Victor Osimhen was outstanding for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the game, and he was able to mark his brilliant display with a hat-trick.

The former Wolfsburg football club star is currently the highest goal scorer in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with 10 goals.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have now finished at the top spot of their group table with 15 points from 6 matches played.
