By: Sunday Ameh

The Ondo State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped lady and arrested four suspects in connection with the abduction, following a swift and intelligence-driven operation.

In a statement released on Thursday, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the development on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal.

According to the statement, the rescue operation was carried out after the Command received credible intelligence about the victim’s location and the movements of the suspects. Acting promptly, a team of detectives was deployed to the scene, leading to the safe rescue of the victim and the arrest of four individuals believed to be involved in the kidnapping.

Commending the professionalism of his men, CP Adebowale Lawal lauded their swift and coordinated response, describing it as a demonstration of the Command’s commitment to the safety and security of residents across the state.

He also expressed appreciation to a vigilant member of the public whose timely information aided the operation’s success. The CP noted that such collaboration underscores the growing trust between the Police and the people — a key pillar of modern policing.

Lawal further stated that the feat reflects the visionary leadership and reform-driven agenda of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, whose strategic policing initiatives continue to enhance proactive crime prevention, quick response capacity, and public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
The suspects, according to the Police, are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
