Ondo PDP Chairman Warns of Party’s Demise if Defeated in Nov Guber Election

The chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tola Alabere, has issued a stark warning about the future of the party should it fail to win the upcoming November governorship election.

Alabere emphasized that a loss to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could lead to widespread defections among members, potentially causing the PDP to collapse in the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the PDP Youth Directorate in Akure, Alabere called upon party youths to dedicate themselves tirelessly to ensure victory at the polls. He expressed confidence that with vigorous canvassing efforts, the PDP would emerge victorious.

Alabere also addressed issues of integrity within the party, criticizing past instances where compromises were made at polling stations, resulting in electoral setbacks. He urged the youth to uphold high moral standards and avoid actions that could undermine the party’s credibility.

“This election is crucial for our survival,” Alabere emphasized. “Failure is not an option. It could spell the end of the PDP in Ondo State. I implore you to seize this moment and commit fully to our cause. Let us work diligently in our communities to rally support. We must reject any temptation to compromise our integrity for personal gain. It’s time for a positive change.”

Alabere concluded by expressing confidence in the capability of PDP youths to deliver success for the party, urging them to uphold the values that distinguish them in the political landscape.
