Usman Momoh, who was accused by his daughter of sexual abuse, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command. He has however pleaded for forgiveness.

The daughter in a viral video said her father had been sleeping with her for a very long time and that whenever she refused to have sex with him, he would send her out of the house in the midnight.

Momoh , a staff member of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, was paraded at the state headquarters of the police , Akure, on Friday.

He confessed to committing the crime but said he had sex with daughter once.

“I want to be forgiven. I have realised my mistake. I didn’t know what came over me,” he said.

Chairperson of the Ondo State chapter of International Federation of Women Lawyers, Bola Ogundadegbe, said the police would prosecute Momoh after investigation.

She said the victim would be counselled to enable her to come out of her current state of depression.

“We are going to give her psychological support. She needs our support morally because she is not stable,” the FIDA chairperson stated.
