Ondo/Edo 2020: INEC introduces results viewing portal

In order to increase the transparency of the election process in Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has introduced election results viewing portal where Polling Unit Results Sheet (form EC8A) would be made available on a public domain.

Starnews reports that INEC would commence the innovation with the Nasarawa Central State Constituency bye-election scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2020, while the same would be replicated in Ondo and Edo governorship elections where copies of the election results from polling boots would be published on the portal.

In statement on Thursday by its National Commissioner and chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, INEC said it is determined to enhance transparency in the election process using Ondo and Edo as a case study, Starnews can report.
