The Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, appeared before an Akure Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday regarding an alleged assault on a magistrate, after previously failing to respond to court summons.
The case, which had been adjourned due to her absence, was brought up again on Wednesday with the commissioner present in court.
Following her appearance, the court revoked the earlier warrant of arrest issued against her.
In her ruling, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni stated that all pending applications before the court had become irrelevant due to the defendant’s voluntary appearance.
Dr. Osamaye pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the amount of N500,000 on self-recognisance.
She was also instructed to submit a written undertaking to ensure her availability in court whenever the case is scheduled for trial.
The case was adjourned to February 20, 2026, for further proceedings.
