Ondo: APC gubernatorial aspirants to collect clearance Monday, see list

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to distribute certificates of clearance to the 16 gubernatorial aspirants vying in the upcoming Ondo elections, as announced by Nze Chidi Duru, the Deputy Organising Secretary of the party, during an exclusive phone conversation on Sunday evening.

“Yes, all the aspirants (Ondo) will be coming to the party secretariat tomorrow for their certificate of clearance. They are expected to be here by 4.00 pm and I am aware they have all been informed,” he said.

The state party chapter is scheduled to conduct a delegate congress across its 18 local government areas on Monday, leading up to the gubernatorial shadow poll on Saturday.

This aligns with the revised timetable for the 2024 governorship election in Ondo. The announcement follows the clearance of all 16 political contenders for the upcoming primary election, set for April 20th.

The successful aspirants include the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, business mogul and senator representing Ondo South district, Jimoh Ibrahim; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olusola Oke; former President of Nigerian Medical Association, Prof. Francis Faduyile; mechanical engineer, Dr Funmi Waheed-Adekojo and APC National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke.
