The Chairman of Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has congratulated the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin, Rotimi Akeredolu on his appointment as the zonal Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shetima Presidential Campaign Council in the South West.
The Chairman, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabiitan, in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to journalists in Akure yesterday, described the appointment as well-deserved given Akeredolu’s reach and respectable standing not only in southwest politics, but also in the politics of Nigeria as a whol
According to him, Akeredolu’s excellent track record in the legal profession where he made his name as a sound legal mind and in politics where his voice has made him a standard-bearer for truth, frankness and objectivity, have placed him in good stead to lead the campaign for the Presidential bid of Tinubu-Shetima in the Southwest.
While commending Tinubu for the strong insight in picking this political enigma, Olabiitan believed that he would deploy his wealth of experience to rally support for the presidential bid in the Southwest
He described Akeredolu as a tireless fighter and “a man who, once he sets his sight on a worthy cause, does not look back until he achieves results.
He said, “Part of the political strategies in winning election is in identifying those who can serve in certain strategic positions. Therefore, Tinubu’s wisdom in choosing Aketi to lead his Presidential campaign in the Southwest is a master-stroke
“This appointment, to my mind, is not unexpected. Before his appointment, the Ondo State Government has been vocal in pushing the Southwest agenda for the Presidency. I believe that, now that he has been so honoured to galvanise people towards achieving this worthy cause, he would do it with all the arsenal at his disposal. “Akeredolu is a man whose commitment to the southwest political agenda is unwavering, total and sacrosanct.
The else-while Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker, however urged Southwest governors, particularly those of APC stock and other heavy weight politicians from the zone to rally round Akeredolu to succeed in, what he described as ‘an altruistic assignment’
He said “Awa lokan”, (It is our turn), the turn of the Southwest to produce the President, stressing that this could only be made possible if the entire zone gives her total support to the worthy cause of Tinubu-Shetima to become the Nigeria’s President come 202
