Oando tank farm ablaze over 12 hours

Apetrol tank farm belonging to Oando located at Ijora, Lagos caught fire Thursday morning and burnt for 12 hours.

The actual cause of the fire which started on Thursday morning is still not known.

Rescuers battled to evacuate people on the premises when the fire started.

An aerial photograph shows four tanks on the premises, with one on fire.

Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, who Confirmed the incident said all the staff have been evacuated.

He said fire fighters from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Federal Fire and the Nigerian Maritme Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) mobilised to the scene to fight the fire.
