NSCDC arrests suspected criminals, alleged drug dealer

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has captured 11 individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities within the state.

 

SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, the corps’ Public Relations Officer in the state, revealed this while introducing the suspects to the public on Wednesday in Kano.

 

He stated that the arrests occurred on February 27 in Yanbarka and Limawa Village, situated in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

 

“The suspects were arrested for allegedly terrorising the community of Yanbarka and Limawa Village during a wedding ceremony.

 

“In the process, the suspects attacked the family of one of the community leaders, injuring and breaking the leg and hand of his son.

 

“The suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons such as cutlasses, knives, sharp iron rods and long wooden plank (Gora), among others,” he said.

 

The PRO also said that operatives of the corps arrested a 26-year-old man suspected to be dealing in illicit drugs in Doguwa Local Government in the state.

 

He said that the suspect was arrested in possession of 1,000 pieces of tramadol tablet worth N1 million in Riruwai Doguwa Local Government Kano on Feb.27.

 

Idris-Abdullahi said that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

 

He reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting and safeguarding all critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.
