The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the killing of several terrorists in a series of precision airstrikes conducted between June 24 and 26, 2025, in Niger State under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1.
The operation, aimed at supporting ground troops in their efforts to dismantle terrorist strongholds, targeted criminal elements responsible for recent attacks and cattle rustling in Kakihun and Kumbashi communities. The strikes were guided by credible intelligence and coordinated with other security agencies.
In a statement released Friday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operations were executed swiftly and professionally, with multiple waves of air raids destroying terrorist logistics and preventing their regrouping.
“Swiftly deploying air assets, the Air Component executed multiple waves of precision strikes that neutralised scores of terrorists, destroyed their logistics, and disrupted regrouping efforts,” he said.
Ejodame noted that the success of the operation was a result of inter-service and inter-agency collaboration, adding that it reflected the Nigerian Air Force’s rapid response capability and its commitment to national security.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains resolutely committed to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians and ensuring lasting peace across the country,” he added.
The operation comes as part of intensified military efforts to tackle rising insecurity in the North-Central region, where terrorist and bandit activities have disrupted lives and displaced many communities.
