Makinde losing to Fayose as Akinyelure Joins Camp ahead of S/West PDP Congress

Senator representing Ondo Central, Ayo Akinyelure, on Sunday, visited former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose in his Lagos residence to pledge support for Dr Eddy Olafeso, who is being promoted as the Peoples Democratic Party National Vice Chairman (South-West) by the former governor of Ekiti State.

Akinyelure support for Fayose’s group is coming after Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South District at the National Assembly led a delegation of prominent members of the party to pay a solidarity visit to Fayose.

Starnews Nigeria reports that as power tussle within the PDP continues in the South-West and the Zonal Congress is fast approaching, the Oyo State Governor seems to be losing political weight to Fayose as the former Ekiti Governor is adding political bigwigs and elected politicians to his camp every week.

My Visit to Gov Fayose yesterday was a peace reconciliation visit to the Former Governor of EKITI State to discuss modalities of reconciling all the Parties to move our great Party forward to greater heights of Development.
By convention and norms, the sitting Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde being the only PDP Governor remains the SW Leader of PDP, but needs to carry along all political leaders of each State of SW in taking decisions that affect all, to make PDP remain an indivisible Party in SW.
Governor Ayo Fayose has agreed with me after the meeting held with him in his private residence in Lagos yesterday to settle for peace to move the Party forward and therefore support the Mandate of Ondo State working Committee of our great Party given to me to arrange peace meetings with aggrieved stakeholders/Leaders of PDP in SW to settle all issues that can throw the Party apart ahead of SW PDP CONGRESS.

Please note that my role as the Chairman NASS PDP Caucus is that of a mediator to settle all issues outstanding unresolved, not to take side with anyone. I strongly believe God Almighty will give me wisdom to make a success of the assignment.
