Lagos 2023 Governorship Candidate Jandor Dumps PDP

Dr. AbdulAzeez Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after contesting as the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State during the 2023 election.

He made the announcement on Monday at a press conference in his Ikeja office, where he explained that the decision followed discussions with his family, political associates, and supporters.

Although he has left the PDP, Jandor has not yet declared which party he will join next.

He stated that he and his loyal supporters would engage with key stakeholders and Nigerians before making their next move.

Explaining why he quit the PDP, Jandor blamed internal conflicts within the party.

He claimed that some party leaders actively worked against his campaign in the 2023 election, even supporting opponents instead of their own candidates.

He recalled how Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat had publicly stated that PDP members contributed to the party’s defeat by working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jandor mentioned that despite these claims being made on television, the individuals involved never denied their roles. Instead, they continue to present themselves as PDP leaders.

He believes this betrayal made it impossible for him to remain in the party.

For now, Jandor and his supporters will take time to decide their next step, focusing on what they believe will benefit Lagos residents the most.
