Kenneth Okonkwo, a former spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council, has announced his resignation from the party. His exit will take effect on February 25, 2025.
Okonkwo attributed his decision to ongoing internal conflicts and leadership problems within the party. He explained that his involvement in politics is driven by the desire to promote good governance, but he no longer sees this vision being realized within the Labour Party.
He acknowledged the support of Nigerians who stood with the party during crucial moments and assured them that he remains committed to the nation’s progress. He stated that after his resignation, he will be free to collaborate with others who share his vision for a better Nigeria.
The date of his resignation coincides with the second anniversary of the 2023 presidential election, which he considers symbolic. Moving forward, he intends to work with individuals dedicated to improving governance and ensuring a brighter future for the country.
