The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has uncovered an alleged ₦20 billion land fraud involving top officials and legal practitioners in the state.
According to Afripost, Speaking to journalists on Thursday, PCACC Chairman Muhuyi Magaji confirmed that 15 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Among those detained are the registrar of the Kano State High Court, three lawyers, and four officials from the Ministry of Lands. Also implicated are a former Deputy Sheriff and a court bailiff.
Magaji further disclosed that the suspects attempted to bribe operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) with ₦2 million, but the offer was rejected.
He commended the Chief Judge of Kano State for cooperating with the commission’s investigation and lauded Governor Abba Yusuf’s commitment to holding all individuals involved accountable, regardless of their status.
Magaji assured the public that the PCACC remains resolute in its mission to combat corruption and ensure justice prevails.
