By Miracle Ogunde

A female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, has been expelled by the management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka for allegedly assaulting a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.

Tribune reports that the he expulsion follows a recommendation by the Student Disciplinary Committee, which found Precious’ actions to be a gross violation of the institution’s disciplinary regulations.

The incident, which went viral on social media, involved Precious attacking Dr Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer, after he interrupted her while recording a TikTok video on campus.

The university’s decision takes immediate effect, with Precious directed to vacate the premises and return any university property in her possession.

This move by the UNIZIK administration aims to maintain discipline within the institution and address the growing concern over student misconduct.
