Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Abuja after attending the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources 2024 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The event, held at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre, was organized by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire to discuss policies and strategies for the sustainable development of the extractive and energy sectors.
Shettima attended the conference at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.
His visit coincided with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to France, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron. While Vice President Shettima has returned, President Tinubu remains in France as of the time of this report.
The trip highlights Nigeria’s active participation in global efforts to promote sustainability in energy and resource management.
