The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the sum of N2.6 billion for the coordination and logistics of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
Commissioner for Information, Sagir Musa, announced the allocation on Wednesday in Dutse following the council’s weekly meeting. He stated that the funding is intended to ensure the smooth and efficient transportation and welfare of the state’s intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
According to Musa, the budget will cover essential aspects of the pilgrimage, including air travel, accommodation, feeding, medical services, orientation programs, and other logistical support.
“This is to ensure a hitch-free pilgrimage for all pilgrims from the state as they embark on the holy journey,” the Commissioner affirmed.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to conducting a seamless Hajj exercise in full compliance with the guidelines established by Saudi authorities, emphasizing that transparency and accountability would be upheld throughout the process.
Musa added that relevant state agencies have been directed to collaborate closely to enable pilgrims to perform their religious obligations without undue hardship.
