JAMB Withholds Results of 39,834 Candidates Over Exam Irregularities

JAMB has withheld the results of 39,834 candidates due to issues related to exam irregularities. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results on May 9, 2025, but stated that these candidates’ results could not be released.

Over 1.9 million people participated in the exam. In addition, 80 individuals across Nigeria are under investigation for exam fraud, with Anambra State having the most suspects, 14 in total.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, shared this information while officially releasing the results. The board also revealed that 467 underage candidates met the required minimum score, but 50 of them were found to be involved in cheating activities. A press conference is currently being held to provide further details.
