The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has scheduled the mop-up examination for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
This information was shared in a statement released on Sunday by the board.
According to JAMB, a total of 96,838 candidates are expected to take part in the mop-up test.
Among them are 5,096 candidates whose cases spilled over from the main examination due to biometric verification issues, and 91,742 others who were either absent during the original test or a previous resit.
To get ready for the test, all affected candidates are expected to print their exam notification slips starting from Monday, June 23, 2025.
The exam will hold in 183 designated centres nationwide, while a few more candidates have been placed on standby.
As part of its efforts to ensure a clean examination process, JAMB has removed 113 Computer-Based Test centres from its list.
These centres were found to have committed various offences such as poor technical setup and aiding exam fraud. Investigations into these centres are ongoing, and those found guilty will face prosecution.
JAMB also revealed that its investigations have uncovered exam malpractice rings involving school owners, tutorial centres, and even some officials of the board.
It extended appreciation to security agencies like the State Security Service, Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for helping to uncover fraud and impersonation cases.
Due to these discoveries, some towns previously used for testing have been disqualified. Candidates from those areas will be reassigned to nearby towns.
The board appealed for their patience as arrangements are made.
JAMB warned that students found impersonating others during the UTME will not only be prosecuted under the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999 but may also face expulsion from their current institutions.
The first batch of the mop-up exam will begin at 8:00 am, and all candidates are expected to arrive at least an hour before their scheduled time.
JAMB assured that strict monitoring and the presence of security personnel will guide the conduct of the exam to maintain fairness and order.
