The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that over 30 terrorists were killed in precision airstrikes carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement made available to defence correspondents in Abuja on Saturday. He said the operation, which took place on Friday, September 5, 2025, was a swift response to reports of a heavy terrorist attack on friendly forces in Dar-El-Jamal village.
“Acting on the situation report, AC OPHK deployed an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Air Interdiction (AI) mission. Upon arrival, the aircrew identified friendly forces, while ISR scans revealed terrorists fleeing northwards from the town into nearby bushes,” the statement read.
Ejodame explained that the aircrew executed three precise and successive strikes on the fleeing insurgents, neutralising more than 30 terrorists. Troops providing reinforcements later arrived at the location to secure the area and stabilise the situation.
He said the successful operation demonstrated the strong synergy between air and ground troops and reinforced the Nigerian Armed Forces’ determination to dismantle terrorist networks, protect civilians, and restore peace in the North-East.
“The Nigerian Air Force, working closely with sister services and other security agencies, reassures Nigerians that it will continue to take deliberate and collaborative actions to ensure the safety and security of all citizens across the country,” Ejodame added.
