The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr Kayode Ajulo, OON, SAN, has penned a deeply emotional tribute in remembrance of his late son, Master Kayikunmi Edwin Kayode Ajulo, who would have turned 14 on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
In a heartfelt message titled “In Loving Memory of Master Kayikunmi Edwin Kayode Ajulo @ 14”, the senior legal officer expressed profound sorrow over the loss of his son, who died in a tragic accident, describing the pain of his absence as an ever-present reality.
“My heart aches with the weight of remembrance as I honour my beloved son, Kayikunmi, who would have been 14 years old today,” Ajulo wrote.
“The tragic accident that took you from us still feels unreal, yet your soul continues to shine brightly within me.”
The Ondo State Attorney General reminisced on the bright and loving spirit of the young Kayikunmi, noting that despite his short life, he left a lasting impact on his family and everyone who encountered him.
He described his son as a source of daily inspiration, whose memory continues to guide and comfort the family in their moments of grief.
He also reflected on the sorrow shared by his wife, Lady Kofoworola, and the late boy’s siblings, Kanyinsola, Olaoluwakiishi, and baby brother Kinfe, who, he said, “wonders what joy you find in heaven.”
“Though my heart is heavy, I find solace in knowing that your soul is at peace, watching us with unwavering love,” Ajulo stated.
“Your laughter, your joy, and your vibrant spirit echo in our memories, reminding us of the precious moments we shared that can never be taken away.”
He described Kayikunmi as “my shining star” and “my General,” terms that underline the pride and affection with which he continues to hold the memory of his son.
“As we gather to honour your memory, we hold you close in our hearts, where you will forever reside. Your legacy of love and the impact you made will never fade from our lives,” he added.
