The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a one-week extension for the ongoing 2025 paramilitary recruitment exercise.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) A.M. Jibril, the recruitment portal, which was initially scheduled to close on Monday, August 4, 2025, will now remain open until Monday, August 11, 2025.
The Board said the extension aims to give more applicants the opportunity to complete their submissions and join the paramilitary services under the Board’s jurisdiction.
“This extension is geared towards providing additional opportunity for applicants willing to be enlisted into any of the Paramilitary Services as well as the Board,” the statement read.
The CDCFIB reiterated that the official application portal is https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, warning applicants against patronizing third-party websites. It stressed that the recruitment exercise is completely free of charge and will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
This development follows an earlier advisory released on August 1, 2025, for applicants who had submitted their applications before a recent system upgrade.
In that advisory, the Board directed such applicants to visit https://update.cdcfib.gov.ng to verify and update their details. It stated that once the process is completed, a confirmation slip bearing the same application ID as previously generated will be issued.
However, the Board clarified that the update portal does not accept new applications. “If you have submitted a new application after the upgrade, your latest submission will override any previous entries and will not be visible on this update portal,” the statement noted.
Applicants are advised to complete their applications within the new timeline and follow official channels for updates.
