I’ll die on a Sunday after eating pounded yam – Adeboye predicts his death

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has restated his prediction about the circumstances surrounding his death, saying it will happen peacefully on a Sunday after he has attended church service and eaten his favourite meal — pounded yam.

Pastor Adeboye made the remark while addressing thousands of worshippers at the ongoing RCCG International Convention, themed “The Overcomers.” The revered cleric, who is widely respected across the world for his spiritual leadership, explained that death does not always have to come through prolonged illness or suffering.

“I will die on a Sunday after attending service, eat my beloved pounded yam, and then pass on without any sickness,” he said, stressing that his passing will be without pain or medical complications.

The cleric noted that this was not the first time he was making such a revelation. According to him, he had earlier shared the same vision about two years ago, insisting that it was a message he believes came directly from God.

Delivering his sermon titled “Possess Your Possessions”, Pastor Adeboye encouraged believers to hold firmly to their faith and actively claim the blessings and promises that are theirs through Christ. He urged Christians not to be complacent in their spiritual journey but to take deliberate steps in fulfilling their God-given destinies.

The RCCG leader’s declaration has since generated conversations among church members and the wider Christian community, with many describing it as a reflection of his deep confidence in his relationship with God and his readiness for eternity.
