Ilaje APC Leader Petitions Aiyedatiwa Over Alleged Illegal Occupation of Party Office

An All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr. Segun Abiodun, has formally petitioned Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the state party chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, regarding the alleged illegal occupation of the APC party Secretary’s office by Malam Malon Ogbaro, the Executive Director of Finance at OSOPADEC.

In a letter dated 26th January 2026 and made available to journalists on Monday, Mr. Abiodun accused Malam Ogbaro of unlawfully occupying the party’s Secretary position, which he claims violates the APC’s constitution and internal administrative procedures.

Mr. Abiodun, a loyal party stakeholder and grassroots mobiliser, expressed concern over the party leadership’s continued tolerance of the situation, warning that it could undermine discipline and internal democracy within the local party structure.

“The office of the Party’s Secretary at the local government level is a strategic asset of the party and should only be occupied by duly recognised officials appointed or elected in line with APC guidelines,” he stated. “Allowing an alleged unauthorised individual who occupies a full-time appointment in the oil-rich commission to also retain a Party’s office sets a dangerous precedent and could fuel internal disputes.”

He urged Governor Aiyedatiwa and the state party chairman to intervene decisively, calling for the immediate replacement of Malam Ogbaro with a legally recognised party officer. He has issued a three-day ultimatum for the matter to be resolved, stating that failure to act would leave him with no option but to seek legal redress.

“This is not a personal matter but one that concerns the integrity, structure, and future of our great party in Ilaje,” Abiodun emphasised. “Prompt action will prevent avoidable tension and protect the image of the APC.”

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Ondo State APC leadership nor Malam Ogbaro could be reached for comment. Starnews NG attempted to contact Malam Ogbaro for his reaction to the allegations but he was not reachable.

Political observers have noted that this development arises as the APC is intensifying efforts to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of future electoral engagements in the state.
