Hoodlums attack Adamawa commissioner, steal his car

Hoodlums reportedly attacked the Yola home of Adamawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Development, Mohammed Sadiq, on Monday.

The commissioner, injured by the hoodlums who took away his official car, was admitted for medical attention at a private hospital in Yola.

The incident happened in the early hours of the day.

News of the attack on the commissioner came to light just as Governor Ahmadu Fintiri was issuing a press release alleging plans by unidentified persons to attack warehouses and loot goods.

The governor said some people in the state were sponsoring criminals to unleash mayhem and breach the prevailing peace.

“There’s credible intelligence about some youths who are gearing up to break into government and private warehouses in the state,” the governor said in the release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.
