Gunmen Kill Traditional Ruler, Abduct Residents in Nasarawa

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen launched a deadly attack on Tse Yange, a Tiv community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, late Sunday night, killing the village head and abducting several residents.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers stormed the village on motorcycles, shooting sporadically and causing widespread panic. The onslaught continued into the early hours of Monday, forcing many villagers to flee their homes in fear.

The incident also left several people injured, while others remain unaccounted for. As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to confirm the total number of casualties or the identities of those abducted.

Security operatives have been deployed to the area, and efforts are ongoing to restore calm and investigate the attack.
