Gunmen Kidnap Man in Asokoro, Demand N20 Million

Unknown gunmen wreaking havoc in Abuja on Sunday kidnapped two landlords in the Asokoro extension of the Federal Capital Territory.

The kidnappers are demanding N20 million ransom to free the victims.

The armed men reportedly used a landlord in the neighbourhood as bait after holding him at gunpoint to get access to a victim.

A resident of the area who only identified himself as James disclosed that the other victim was on his way into his house when he was abducted by the armed men.

He said, “It happened around 11 pm on Sunday. Because of the heat, one of the landlords slept outside. They saw him and pointed a gun to his head. They asked him to take them to his house, and he showed them but they were not satisfied with the kind of house he lives in.”

As of the time of this report, the FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, has not issued a statement on the incident.

Mohammed Seidu, the Asokoro Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, confirmed the incident to journalist, adding that efforts were being made with the police to rescue the victims.
