Food Security: Ekiti Receives 12,800 Bags of Grains, 3,000 Bags of Garri from FG

In a bid to alleviate economic hardships, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) handed over assorted commodities to Ekiti State, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to support the nation.

The delivery, overseen by Mr. Stephen Adewale, South West Coordinator for NEMA, aimed to ensure equitable distribution to the most vulnerable populations.

Adewale specified that 20% of the food items would be allocated to local governments, to be distributed by religious leaders, and 3% designated for boarding schools across various local governments in Ekiti State.

Chief Monisade Afuye, Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, received the donations on behalf of the state government and expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the support during these challenging times.

Afuye emphasized the strategic importance of President Tinubu’s policies in overcoming Nigeria’s economic difficulties and assured that the distributed items would reach their intended beneficiaries promptly.

The initiative underscores ongoing efforts to mitigate economic challenges and support vulnerable communities in Ekiti State.
