The Federal Government has launched an investigation into a recent dispute between Air Peace and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, which took place on Wednesday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced on Friday that steps have been taken to understand what happened.
According to him, aviation agencies have been directed to collect all available information on the matter and send a report to his office.
He also called on both parties to stop making public accusations while the probe is ongoing.
The issue started when Air Peace accused Oshiomhole of disrupting its operations after missing a scheduled flight.
Videos shared online showed the Senator seated at a gate inside Zulu Hall and speaking with an airport official.
Oshiomhole responded by denying that he caused any trouble. Instead, he claimed that the airline introduced unfair charges by asking online-checked passengers to pay extra money before boarding.
Air Peace dismissed the claim, calling it false.
The Minister said the goal of the investigation is to ensure proper conduct in future situations and to treat both parties fairly. He also said every side must be heard before any conclusion is reached.
