The family of an 83-year-old woman, Mrs. Clementina Akinbo, popularly known as Olelaa, has cried out for help following her sudden disappearance in Ode Aye, a community in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The octogenarian reportedly went missing on Sunday, June 8, 2025, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., sparking anxiety and panic within the family and the wider community.

Narrating the incident, her son, Mr. Oluwole Akinbo, told Starnews NG that the family became alarmed after his children, who had just returned from church, were asked to switch on the solar light in their grandmother’s room, only to discover she was not there.

“It was a big shock when my children came to tell me that Mama wasn’t in her room. I initially thought she had stepped out briefly, but after searching every corner of the house and the compound, we couldn’t find her,” he said.

Mr. Akinbo said he quickly proceeded to a neighbouring house to check on one of her close friends, thinking she might have gone there, but to no avail. He later contacted his siblings, and the entire family began a frantic search within the community.

“We combed everywhere we could think of—uncompleted buildings, farms, and all the places she’s familiar with. Unfortunately, we still couldn’t find her,” he lamented.

The family has since expanded the search to nearby villages and has issued a public appeal, urging anyone with useful information about her whereabouts to come forward.

According to the family, Mrs. Akinbo is a gentle and calm woman who is not known to wander off on her own. She was last seen wearing a traditional wrapper and blouse.

Meanwhile, as the search continues, the family remains hopeful for her safe return and has called for prayers and support from well-meaning individuals.
