Exclusive: Kidnapper abduct travellers between Ondo-Kogi road

An unspecified number of travelers on a Siena Bus heading to Abuja were kidnapped yesterday between Akunu Akoko, in the Akoko North East Local Government Area, and Ayere, in the Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Starenews learnt.

Mr. Felix Obaromi, a resident of Akunu Akoko, confirmed that combined teams of soldiers, police, Amotekun, local vigilantes, and hunters are currently combing the forest to rescue the victims.

Efforts to reach the monarch of Akunu Akoko, Oba Olufemi Saba, were unsuccessful at the time of writing this report.

In a related incident, Starenews NG learnt that gunshots believed to be from kidnappers were heard between Imesi Ekiti and Irun Akoko, where travelers had been kidnapped previously.

Farmers returning from their farms along the Ado Ekiti to Ikare road confirmed the incident.

Mr. Ade Ikusemori, a resident of Irun Akoko, who left the farm in the troubled area, called on security agents, hunters, and volunteers to rush to the scene to rescue the innocent victims.

The exact number of people kidnapped remains unknown, and the road has been deserted.
