Eid al-Fitr: Remember the poor, Senator Tofowomo charges Muslim Faithful

Nicholas Tofowomo, the Senator representing Ondo South at the National Assembly on Sunday urged the Muslim faithful to remember the poor as they celebrate Eid-al-Fitr across the world.

In a statement signed by his media aide on Sunday, Sen. Tofowomo described Eid-al-Fitr season as a time to present gifts to loved ones and celebrate with one another after the long fasting.

“Eid al-Fitr is a festival of love, a time of official receptions and private visits, when friends greet one another, present gifts, and celebrate after a long fasting and prayer period”.

The Senator said that Muslims all over the world should remember the poor in this unprecedented time of economic hardship caused by COVID-19.

“During this unprecedented hard time caused by Covid-19, I urge all the Muslim faithful across the globe to support the poor and consider them for assistance to cushion the effect of COVID-19”, he added.
