The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three men suspected of running a fake Q-net operation in Abuja.
The arrests took place on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, when EFCC operatives picked up Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Julius Akano, and Victor Oluwale.
The three men were allegedly operating under the name Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited, pretending to represent Q-net, an international e-commerce and direct selling company.
However, Q-net has denied having any connection to the suspects or their activities.
Investigations revealed that apart from posing as Q-net agents, the suspects were also running a fake university training programme.
This fake school was set up in open spaces like pavilions and under trees, where they claimed to offer Bachelor of Science degrees in fields such as Medicine, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Computer Studies, and Geology.
They falsely told students they were linked to Quest International University, Malaysia.
The suspects reportedly collected between N1.2 million and N1.3 million as registration fees from students, gathering hundreds of millions of naira in fraudulent proceeds.
Before this arrest, on March 24, 2025, the EFCC had raided the so-called Q-net University located at Compensation Layout in Gwagwalada, Abuja, where they arrested 133 people linked to the scam.
